Dr. Vinay Sohal was born and raised in Calgary and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Calgary. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in New York from NYU College of Dentistry.

Dr. Sohal practices all aspects of general dentistry with a belief in developing long-lasting relationships with his patients. Keen on educating his patients on dental care, Dr. Sohal relays information regarding the topic in an easily understandable manner. As a result, not only does he strive to make an educational experience for his patients, but he also sets up a framework to prevent such problems from occurring in the future.

Attempting to be an outdoorsman, Dr. Sohal continues his quest to one day catch a fish. In his spare time, he enjoys kayaking and flying to Vancouver to visit his fiancée.

Dr. Sohal welcomes new patients and is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.

Dr. Zimrisa Loga received her Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Royal University in Calgary. Shortly after, she moved to Edmonton to pursue dentistry and obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Alberta. She is very excited to be back in Calgary and closer to the mountains!

Dr. Loga enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and welcomes patients of all ages. She believes that patient education is crucial when it comes to dental visits. Her goal is to maintain a transparent relationship with all of her patients and to make every experience comfortable and enjoyable. Dr. Loga enjoys getting to know all of her patients and will take the time to answer any questions you may have.

Dr. Loga is very passionate about giving back to her community through volunteer work. She has provided free dental care to locals in remote villages in Peru through a dental mission trip. She found this to be a truly humbling experience and would love to have the opportunity to help out again in the future. While in school, she was an avid volunteer with the SHINE dental clinic that focused on providing free emergency dental care to Edmonton’s underserved population. In her spare time, Dr. Loga enjoys being in the outdoors, hiking, travelling and spending time with her husband and family.

Periodontist | Reviews

Dr. Javier Cabrales completed the Graduate Periodontics program at the University of Manitoba in June 2020. Prior to his periodontal training, he received his DMD from the University of Saskatchewan in 2014 and thereafter worked as a general dentist for 3 years prior to entering postgraduate studies.

As a trained periodontist, he specializes in the placement of dental implants and the management of periodontal disease. This includes the following:

Dr. Cabrales is fluent in both English and Spanish, and was drawn to Calgary for its mountains. When not at work, he enjoys going for long walks with his dog, snowboarding, cycling, and playings sports such as soccer and squash.

Endodontist

Dr. Kiarash Shabehpour (or Dr. Kia as his patients and colleagues tend to call him) is a Certified Specialist in Endodontics. He finished his specialist training at the University of British Columbia, where he is currently a clinical instructor helping with training of the next generation of Endodontists.

Dr. Shabehpour practices in both Alberta and British Columbia and along with his team, helps his patients and colleagues with root canal related procedures on a referral basis. He is fluent in both English and Farsi.

When not working, he loves spending time with his family, indulges in martial arts of Judo or can be found on the slopes, skiing.

Dr. Shabehpour is proud supporter of animal rescue groups worldwide.

Orthodontist | Reviews

Dr. Tieu has spent a good portion of his life in school.  Four years were spent getting his B.SC in his hometown of Hamilton at McMaster University and another two years conducting research for his M.Sc.  He decided to pursue dentistry and received his DDS from Western University in London, ON.

After a one-year general practice residency at the University of Alberta, he finally decided to take a break from his studies to try private practice.  That inspired him to apply for the orthodontic specialty which brought him back to Alberta for three more years.  After 14 years of post-secondary education Long is enjoying life with no exams and late night studying!

Outside of work and school, Long is always busy with his wife and four kids.  They Enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, skiing, hockey and travel.  Video games and watching sports and movies are always pastimes to relax in the evening.

Orthodontist

Endodontist

Dr. Adriana Hernandez obtained her BDS degree in Venezuela in 2005. Following several years of successful practice as a general dentist, she decided to further her expertise by specializing in Endodontics. Her journey as a specialist in Endodontics allowed her to serve the dental community in Venezuela with high skill and dedication for several years.

Later on, Dr. Hernandez, along with her husband and three children, relocated to Canada. In Canada, she pursued additional dental education at the University of British Columbia, where she earned certification for her specialty degree. Today, Dr. Hernandez primarily assists patients and colleagues with root canal treatments and endodontic surgeries on a referral basis. She is fluent in English and Spanish.

Certified Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Kua is a Certified Specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery born and raised in Calgary. He received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary in 2008. Dr. Kua obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The University of Western Ontario in 2012. Following completion of his doctorate, Dr. Kua practiced general dentistry in Calgary and Bowden Correctional Institution for two years before being accepted into and completing his specialty training in Oral & Maxillofacial

Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. His residency consisted of rotations in anaesthesia, general surgery, otolaryngology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and critical care medicine. He is trained in all aspects of IV sedation, complex dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, oral and maxillofacial pathology, and non-surgical temporomandibular joint disorders.

Dr. Kua is excited to offer a broad range of oral and maxillofacial surgery services to Calgary and surrounding areas.

Dr. Umar Rekhi is a dedicated registered periodontist and researcher committed to fostering long-term relationships with his patients. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta, teaching undergraduate and graduate programs.

Dr. Rekhi’s academic journey began at the University of Health Sciences in Pakistan, where he earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery and subsequently practiced as a General Dentist. After relocating to Canada, he pursued a PhD in Periodontology at the University of Alberta, skillfully balancing advanced clinical training in Periodontology with rigorous research. During his doctoral studies, he received several prestigious academic awards, including the Motyl Graduate Studentship in Cardiac Sciences. He has authored a number of research articles and presented his findings at both local and international conferences. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for various scientific journals and is an active member of multiple professional societies. His research interests lie at the intersection of periodontal and cardiovascular diseases.

In his clinical practice, Dr. Rekhi utilizes his expertise to effectively treat periodontal diseases, perform advanced periodontal plastic procedures, reconstruct hard and soft tissues, and execute the surgical placement of dental implants.

Beyond his professional commitments, Dr. Rekhi enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children. He is also passionate about travelling and exploring new destinations.

Roni is a second-generation denturist, who developed a passion for dentures at a young age while visiting his Dad often at their family denture clinics back home in Toronto. He graduated in 2016 from a well-known and highly accredited school; George Brown College where he obtained his license to practice as a Denturist across Canada.

In his free time, Roni likes to spend it outdoors fly fishing for trout, playing basketball, hockey and of course spending time with family and friends.

Roni is always putting his patients’ needs first, using his excellent level of commitment, skill and patience in both his professional and personal life ( we all know the patience you need to catch a fish)

His words to go by are “changing lives one smile at a time” which he strives to achieve with every patient.

Manjot graduated from the University of Alberta dental hygiene program in 2016 with honours. She later returned to the University of Alberta to complete her baccalaureate degree specializing in dental hygiene. Upon completion of her degree, she was awarded the College of Registered Dental Hygienists of Alberta Gold Medal due to outstanding academic achievement.

Manjot enjoys creating meaningful relationships with her patients and making positive differences in their oral health. She strives to provide each client with a unique and tailored experience by listening and adapting to each patient’s needs and concerns.

In her spare time, Manjot enjoys the outdoors and staying active. She feels grateful to live close to the Rockies and frequently visits the mountains to hike and enjoy the scenery. She also enjoys playing various sports some of which include soccer, basketball, badminton and volleyball. Manjot is very thankful for her large East Indian family and spends any remaining time with them.

Lindsay is a dedicated and compassionate dental hygienist with over 15 years of experience improving patients’ oral health. Since graduating from dental hygiene school in 2009, Lindsay has built a reputation for providing exceptional care, creating a comfortable experience for her patients at every visit, and fostering meaningful relationships. Passionate about helping others, she enjoys educating patients on the importance of oral health and making a positive impact on their lives.

Lindsay was born and raised in Calgary and moved to Airdrie nine years ago. Outside of work, she is a proud mother of two daughters, ages 4 and 7. When not caring for her patients, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, exploring new restaurants, and travelling whenever possible.

Hailey is a dedicated and empathetic dental hygienist with a passion for providing high-quality care to patients of all ages. Graduating with high honours in 2018 from the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene, Hailey has honed her skills in both clinical practice and patient education, ensuring each patient receives individualized care tailored to their needs. She is committed to professional development and regularly participates in continuing education to stay current with the latest dental advancements.

Known for her non-judgmental approach, Hailey strives to create a comfortable and welcoming environment where all patients feel valued and heard. Outside of her professional life, Hailey is a mother of two young daughters, ages 2 and 5. She balances her career with her role as a devoted parent, bringing empathy, patience, and understanding to both her work and family life. In her free time, Hailey enjoys exploring new coffee shops and indulging in true crime documentaries, fueling her curiosity and love for discovery.
